It's Teacher's Day again and how I wish I could just rename my Starblog title but since I wrote about my beloved teachers as well....
Perhaps to some it is just a job. Never underestimate the power a teacher has over each and every one of her students. For some (like me), it is so devastating when your teacher fail to understand you. It changed my life because I quit school.
And I hate that teacher till now - her name is Lin Ya Zhu, previously from Ngee Ann Secondary School. A total b----.

There is so much difference in terms of culture over there. It is not easy getting used to and I sure have not succeeded in that.
Everyone's greeting everyone, and everyone HAS to visit everyone. I've never visited more people in my entire life combined. They are warm but perhaps too warm for a Singaporean and they don't quite bear in mind that I am from Singapore and we don't do what they do.
It doesn't feel good when you're constantly reminded that 'you just made so-and-so sad/angry/not happy/not feel good/not say good/not think good' because you didn't come over.
Heck, I don't even do CNY visits back home; and travelling as a single mother, long-distance, for such a long period, is no easy feat. I cannot please others and then cause myself misery.
Bear in mind, I'm tolerant of everyone and every culture. All I ask for is for people to accept and acknowledge and come to terms with the fact that I am from the other end of the world and that is not going to change in this lifetime.
I realised I hardly ever took pictures in Switzerland. Here's one in the city.
So I've been M.I.A.-ing for the past one month, not answering calls nor replying to messages in all sorts of mailboxes and Facebook.
I don't want to explain why I was going away, it really is none of anyone's business. And yes I can't be bothered to do anyone a favour and get souvenirs nor to listen to trip advice.
That said, I've had a tough time looking for souvenirs (these, are from the bottom of my heart) because my baggage weight has way exceeded its limits (it broke and we had to get a new one today) and I don't want to pay $50 per excessive kilo.
I've found little souvenirs here in Slovenia and I hope recipients will like them.
So how has the past few weeks been? I'm good, just a little cultural differences here and there, but I've learnt a whole lot of things about myself - I'm less aggressive than I used to be, and many times I'm really left with not much of a choice but to go with the flow.
And I deserve The Superwoman title - your maid/maids + MIL + FIL + DW/DH combined, can never do what I am doing.
I try to take pictures but I'd be too pre-occupied (usually carrying many other stuff big and small) that I can't snap much. Most of the time someone is eating my camera or prying the lens cover open or just being in my face, so I can't, I can't, I can't.
Will post more pics over the next few weeks, both here and on STOMP Starblog. Meanwhile, here are some scenery ones to share (the rest I'm reserving for a friend to view first!).

I now know why graffiti is frowned upon in Singapore. Because the ones we have are pretty fochin' ugly. Our kids need to practice on paper first and get some colour-coordination going.
You can pretty much tell the 'artist' doesn't have much talent when all he (I'm assuming it's always a 'he') can manage is his own name, in black and/or white, on some electrical box thing by the traffic light or on some pathetic green bin.
I am not encouraging the kids to have their graffiti everywhere. But when they do (in designated places in Singapore, ahem), do it like the kids do over in Europe.
This is a school by the way. Some kid's got the Beatles a-going and I love it.
"We go have some young cow."
"No, I don't eat beef."
"Why? It is not beef. Beef is from old cow. This one young cow."
"It is beef."
"No, you must try. It is very good."
"No, I don't eat beef."
"Why."
"I just don't eat. I don't like beef."
"This is young cow, doctor say eat good."
"No I don't want to eat cows. I don't eat beef."
"Same India?"
"Huh?"
"India. People, they pray."
"Yes, yes, we same India. We pray the cow. We Buddhist."
